DANSGROEP AMSTERDAMCHAMELEON
The performers of Chameleon seem to have multiple personalities. Seven female dancers gravitate around their chairs, as if these simple pieces of furniture have become extensions of their bodies. Chameleon is a choreography that explores "feminine mannerism", trying to discover how fast you can change from one expression to another, from one emotion to its opposite."
"In Chameleon, everything seems to oscillate between Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde, both on the level of feminine psychology as well as in terms of a theatrical language and mime based on facial expression: It has to do with a process of self-knowledge and with variations in behaviour and their outward projection. A little humour, to the sound of John Cage’s In a Landscape, which is an unusually "romantic" setting for a musician concerned with the introduction of chance in composition."
