PREMIERE | APRIL 17, 1996 KÜNSTLERHAUS MOUSONTURM FRANKFURT (D) |
ON STAGE | ANNA HUBER AND ARMIN DALLAPICCOLA |
Kept at a distance by mirrors, the audience in Frankfurt's Mousonturm, who are
lying under a mirror angled at 45°, can only indirectly see the two dancers, Anna
Huber and Armin Dallapiccola. Even this simple distortion of view caused by a
mirror shifts the audience's reality, twisting it, and causing disorientation within the
usually familiar stage area. Via headphones, the audience hears an aroused voice
reading Marguerite Duras' story "The Man Sitting in the Corridor", intensifying the
supposed illusion so that it becomes a desire-inducing, extremely erotic phantasm.
