In 1951, the instrumental version of the French jazz classic Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White, recorded by the Cuban Pérez Prado (1916–1989), spent ten weeks at the top of the US charts. After a trip to the Caribbean, Itzik Galili was inspired by the timeless music of the „King of Mambo“ to create an energetic piece for two dancers. She: a vamp with sinfully swivelling hips. He: a nerd who has to be forced into a game of seduction. It is an encounter that Galili infuses with myriad comedic sparks – loose, sexy and full of charming absurdities.
