Nederlands Dans Theater has encouraged its own dancers for years and offers them the chance to explore and develop their talents. In ‘UpComing Choreographers’ and ‘Switch | from dancer to choreographer’ (see Agenda for edition ‘09 on 13 March 2009) they are given the chance to choreograph the group. This season Timulak was asked again to make a new work for Nederlands Dans Theater ll’s young dancers. Timulak is a choreographer of the new generation. In his first work Oneness (2007), he made use of state-of-the-art technology while adding a layer of humanity. Special software was developed for Oneness to make the light intensity on the stage vary with the force and manner of the dancers’ breathing. Together with his tight and structured ballets this creates a very modern and contemporary experience.
