Inspired by Tchaikovsky music, Mr. Shropshire explores the relation between contemporary dance and the virtuosity of classical ballet to celebrate the joy of dancing. Due to the pandemic, the piece was entirely created on a long distance artistic exchange between the choreographer, based on Netherlands, and São Paulo Dance Company dancers’, set on Brazil. This challenging scenario turns Rococo Variations into a pure exercise of the communicative power of dancing.
* Rococo Variations is a production of Associação Pró-Dança/São Paulo Dance Company in partnership with The Dutch Performing Arts program of the Performing Arts Fund NL (Netherlands)
