Having as a point of reference the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch, Paradise lost is diving in to the peculiar and spectacular universe of the painter, in order to get closer in the voluptuous sensation of pleasure and luminous dream, but as well face the despair, rage and darkness of the human nature.
Traveling in time through scenes and situations inspired by details of the work of the painter, the feeling of a new dreamy puzzle is folding in front of us. Paradise lost is not following any precise narrative path.
It mainly focuses on awakening the senses around the universe of Bosch, rather than showing ways of understanding precise references of his work.
The nature of the human condition and the limits of the physicality is the center of this creation, and the path from the internal emotion to external gesture are strongly bound in an organic combination.
Creating the illusion of a imaginary playground where the humans are facing their fears, pleasures, gods and demons, the dancers of Balé da Cidade, are offering a generous and adventurous journey to the audience where beauty seeks for ugliness and where reality becomes part of the unreal.
