Antiche Danze is a work totally inspired by music, in which the Renaissance musical taste merges with modern symphonic culture of IXX century. From this fusion came the choreographic idea: everyday gestures, staccato movements, choreographic parts with fast dynamics; duos, solos and groups accompanied by costumes with contemporary fabrics, but with an aesthetic of antiquity. The choreography develops this contrast between tradition and modernity. And what better company than the Balé da Cidade de São Paulo in order to express these concepts of tradition and rupture?
