Created for a small number of couples, Suite Italienne is a “concencertante” ballet. The term “concencertante” is used in its literal meaning: solo entities, which breathe independently, develop and permeate into each other thanks to the continuous exchange of themes that arise and, consequently, bring about continuous harmony.
The desire to deal with this score in an abstract way leads to a ballet that conveys the immense enjoyment of dancing along with the esthetic pleasure of technique and form.
