FONDAZIONE NAZIONALE DELLA DANZA
The Fondazione Nazionale della Danza was born in 2003. The members of the Fondazione are Emilia-Romagna Region and the Municipality of Reggio Emilia. The Fondazione Nazionale della Danza develops its producing and touring activity under the name Aterballetto, the leading dance company in Italy and the first permanent ballet-producing organization apart from Opera House companies.
The company collaborates with the most important choreographers in the international panorama, such as Jiří Kylián, Johan Inger and Hofesh Shechter, paying attention also to talented young performers, such as Diego Tortelli and Philippe Kratz.
Since September 2017, the new course that Fondazione has embarked is driven by renewed guiding principles. By harmonizing great repertoire proposals with more theatrical productions, without losing its focus on young Italian performers, the Fondazione intends to stimulate in Italy the diffusion of a dance culture broadening the scope of Italian dance beyond the boundaries.
